UO Inclement Weather Update, Tuesday afternoon

12/10 – 4:50 pm

The UO is following its regular operational and final exam schedule for Dec 11. Check departmental websites for any specific changes to public events. Use extreme caution traveling to and from campus; riding the LTD bus system is recommended.

It is understood that not everyone will be able to travel to campus due to continuing inclement weather. Members of the campus community are expected to use their best judgment in assessing the risk of coming to campus and returning home, based on individual circumstances. Students should work with their instructors and staff with their supervisors if they cannot safely get to exams and work. Faculty members not able to travel to campus are responsible for making alternate arrangements for proctoring exams.

Air quality information

12/10 – 1:51 pm

Air quality reached the unhealthy stage overnight in Eugene as bitter cold weather and a strong air inversion
trapped particle pollution from wood smoke in the southern Willamette valley. The Lane Regional Air
Protection Agency’s (LRAPA) air quality monitor in Amazon Park recorded the highest levels of particle
pollution between 9:00 and 10:00 Sunday night. Pollution levels were only slightly better in Oakridge and
Cottage Grove. Levels remain high this morning and are not expected to improve significantly until the weather
changes.
