| Eugene/Springfield Fire Department has extinguished a fire on the third floor of Villard Hall, near Franklin Boulevard and East 11th Avenue on the University of Oregon campus.
Building occupants were evacuated, and cleanup is underway. The UO Fire Marshall has said Villard Hall first and second floors will be available for class use Tuesday afternoon, but the third floor will not be accessible to the public.
Classes on the third floor will be moved to alternate locations through at least Tuesday evening. Impacted faculty members and students will be contacted via e-mail and new locations will be posted to the Alerts Blog, http://alerts.uoregon.edu. Third floor availability for Wednesday will be evaluated this afternoon. |
