The University of Oregon Eugene campus remains closed for the night. Employees working evening and night shifts should not report to work.

While crews have worked through the day to address issues, winter weather and below freezing temperatures continue to make for dangerous conditions on campus and throughout the Eugene Springfield area.

Should campus operations be impacted during typical business hours on Friday, Dec. 16, that will be communicated tomorrow morning.

A map showing the most severely impacted areas can be viewed at https://map.uoregon.edu/storm-damage.

UO Alert!: Campus Closed

Thursday, December 15, 2016, 6:45 a.m.
The University of Oregon Eugene campus will be closed today. All events are canceled.
Winter weather continues to make for dangerous conditions on campus and throughout the Eugene Springfield area.
Personnel responsible for responding to inclement weather and related cleanup under the university’s closure policy (https://policies.uoregon.edu/vol-4-finance-administration-infrastructure/ch-7-real-property-facilities-planning/facilities-and) are expected to report to work, provided they can do so safely. Employees in this category should contact their supervisor if they have concerns about safety related to traveling to campus.
Law students with scheduled final exams will be contacted to rescheduled and should not travel to campus.
If you are required to be on campus, please use extreme caution when outdoors as there are several downed trees and power lines in the greater campus community. Avoid walking under or near trees or downed power lines. There are dozens of downed tree limbs on campus due to icy conditions, and Campus Planning and Facilities Management continues to work to improve the areas impacted most.
As ice begins to melt, there is increased risk from roof slides; therefore, avoid walking immediately adjacent to buildings.
Inclement weather details for employees is available online: https://hr.uoregon.edu/about-hr/campus-notifications/inclement-weather
