SUBJECT: Be wary of emails that state, “Unable to display this message”

Do not click any links in email messages that read: “Unable to display this message. Click here to open this message.” These are phishing messages, and they are an attempt to steal your password.

Here is a sample of the message:

The email messages have different subject lines, and they appear to be sent by someone at the University of Oregon.

If you have opened the message, clicked the link, and entered your username and password, take the following steps immediately:
1. Change your password at https://duckid.uoregon.edu
2. Revise your security questions and answers at https://duckid.uoregon.edu
3. Notify infosec@uoregon.edu by sending an email

The university’s Information Security staff are working to block these messages and assist affected users.
