UO Alert: Stay Home, Save Lives

Dear University of Oregon community,

We are writing to provide the latest update on the University of Oregon’s response to the coronavirus. Yesterday, Gov. Kate Brown issued an update to the Executive Order on school closures throughout the state as part of the continued effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. This new order calls for an extension of school closures through the current academic term. To adhere to this order, the University of Oregon will remain closed to the public operating on a modified status until at least the end of the spring term.

All Oregon residents should continue to stay home and practice social distancing. With the exception of certain pre-approved on-campus activities, members of the university community are advised to stay home and, when you must go out, practice social distancing to minimize risk and the unintentional spread of the coronavirus. While the UO is in modified operations, campus security officials have put new temporary restrictions on access to UO buildings. Additional information for faculty and staff about requesting access is available in the University Operations FAQs. Campus fields and outdoor spaces are closed and should not be used.
