UO Alert Eugene: Severe Weather Closure 1/16/24, 4 p.m.

UO Campus is closed and all classes and events on campus are cancelled on Wednesday, Jan. 17 due to continued icy conditions and safety concerns.

Essential and other employees should check with their supervisors if scheduled to work. Staff inclement weather information is on the Human Resources Inclement Winter Weather website: https://hr.uoregon.edu/inclement-winter-weather   Unless notified, regular shift operations will resume at midnight on January 18, 2024.

Campus cleanup is underway but ice clearing and melting takes longer than snow. Use your best judgement in determining when you can return to campus safely.

Be extremely cautious on campus as winter conditions continue and follow safety guidance. Sidewalks and roads are ice-covered and very slick. Stay clear of areas marked with caution tape. Avoid trees and tree-covered routes. Beware of downed or falling trees, limbs and powerlines. These will continue to fall as the ice melts.
